Our History

Our beginnings …

In 2013, we found that a few NAMI groups in our area were stretched thin in terms of resources and administrative help. To better support our mutual efforts, we began to explore ways to create an extended community of members in the greater Boston area by sharing common operations, administrative systems, and leadership support.

Today …

In 2018, we formally became one affiliate – NAMI Greater Boston. We continue the focus and commitment to our diverse communities through a shared outreach and delivery of NAMI signature programs. We honor our history through our four networks:

  • Family Support and Advocacy Network
  • Dorchester/Mattapan/Roxbury Support and Advocacy Network
  • Peer Support and Advocacy Network
  • Latino Communities Support and Advocacy Network
